Derrick holds a doctorate in Environmental Policy and Management and possesses extensive training in Geomatic, Coastal and Offshore Engineering.
Derrick has been involved in a wide range of environment-related projects spread between academia and industry. His main field of expertise is in the extractive and built industries where he has contributed to the successful preparation and approval of Mining Proposals (MPs); Programs for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPRs); Mine Closure Plans (MCPs); Environmental Impacts Assessments (EIAs); Environmental Performance Reviews (EPRs) and Environmental Reporting for clients mainly within the mining, oil and gas, earthworks and construction industries. Derrick also specializes in Environmental Approvals and Compliance Monitoring, as well as, Site Investigations and Soil Sampling for Contamination Remediation.
